Is there more to iconic Australian children's stories 'Snugglepot and Cuddlepie' than pretty pictures and youthful adventure? 'Beneath the Leaves' presents a playful and perceptive illustration of May Gibbs' characters, delving beneath the leaves and blossoms to explore ideas of femininity, androgyny, twinship, and the notion of divided self.
