2016 ADELAIDE FRINGE

Stephen Moylan - BIO

Born in Adelaide in 1985, Stephen Moylan began his working life volunteering for a number of major events around Adelaide including the Australian Men's Hardcourt Tennis Championships, Tasting Australia, the Adelaide Festival of Arts (2002 and 2004), Classic Adelaide Rally and Slowdown matches for the McGuinness McDermott Foundation, all whilst still at school.

After school, marketing training (Cert IV Business (Marketing)) through TAFE and training in radio production at David Day's Australian Radio School, Stephen began employment in the Media with almost 3 years (2004-2007) working for the Australian Radio Network (ARN) as Community Services Coordinator, a job which allowed him to communicate with a broad variety of people as he handled enquiries from listeners to both Mix102.3 and Cruise1323 (also 5DN during his time of employment). Responsible for the local content on the station's websites in Adelaide, Stephen coordinated the station's What's On pages, and oversaw growth in web visits and a major site redevelopment of the Mix InfoNET events calendar which was eventually rolled out nationwide by ARN.

Stephen worked at the Adelaide Festival Centre in an assistant marketing role on the 2007 Adelaide International Guitar Festival, before catching a severe case of the theatre bug and enrolling in the (then) Adelaide Centre for the Arts' Advanced Diploma of Stage Management in 2008.

Since that time Stephen's theatre work include's Stage Management credits for Blackbird and two seasons of True West for Flying Penguin, The Share and The Under Room for five.point.one, Two and Boxing Day Test for JungleBean, and The Philadelphia Story for SNAPHU Productions. ASM work includes productions by Ausdance SA, the Helpmann Academy, Carclew Youth Arts, Jessie McKinley, the inaugural Melbourne Cabaret Festival (2010), Moomba Festival 2011 and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (2010 and 2011), with recent work including Stage Management for the 2011 Adelaide Fringe seasons of Nice Work If You Can Get It (The Lost Rung), Skinhouse (Quiet Little Fox) and Titters! (Sqeezebox).

Stephen is also credited as lighting and set designer for Daniel Jaber's Too Far Again. Not Far Enough (2010 Fringe) and sound designer for Oh, What A Lovely War, Mate (AC Arts 2009). Following on from Two, Boxing Day Test is Stephen's second production with Junglebean.

LinkAdelaide is Stephen's first, tentative foray into the business world, and, whilst he's learning a lot along the way, he's most pleased that it affords him the opportunity to communicate and connect with extraordinary people doing great things - a privilege he has learnt never to take for granted.

Strange as it may sound, Stephen can be very shy and doesn't like to blow his own trumpet or write in the third person. If you're keen to know more or get in touch, he'd love to hear from you.
